During junior high school and high school I spent more of my time in classes drawing, doodling, cartooning, and sketching than I did the actual home work assignments. I wound up attending a vocational school/career center, I really wanted to take a commercial art course I heard was being offered, but it turned out that particular course was only being offered at a completely different vocational school/career center and wound up taking "Graphic communications" because it was the closest thing I could choose from. Graphic communications was basically printing. From typesetting, preparing images for final print, to actually printing the documents with a offset printer I learned a lot of valuable information that I still apply to my art work today. Everything from lettering, spacing, type and image composition placement, color, and how the human eye blends colors together to create colors beyond the primary color palate, all of this information has been truly invaluable to understanding images better, and their visual impact.
